At this special event co-sponsored by the Greater Kansas City and Topeka Psychoanalytic Center and the Kansas City Public Library, the acclaimed, new documentary, "The Freedom to Marry", about the fight to win marriage equality  throughout America will be shown.  Kansas City native Marc Solomon, a key architect of the marriage equality movement,  is featured in the film. Marc will hold a question and answer session after the film and will discuss his acclaimed book Winning Marriage: The Inside Story of How Same-Sex Couples Took on the Politicians and Public—and Won, named a Best Book of the year by Slate which called it "the definitive political history of marriage equality."
 
Marc spent 12 years as lead political strategist in the movement, and worked as National Campaign Director of Freedom to Marry.  He is presently advising other advocacy movements on strategy as Principal and National Director of Civitas Public Affairs Group.
 
Signed copies of Winning Marriage will be available for purchase.
