Event Description:
This Month at MasterMinds: Because Sports Have Always Been A Little Gay
Stonewall Sports is Kansas City’s first LGBTQ+ and Ally community based, non-profit sports organization. They believe every person should have the ability to feel comfortable being oneself in organized sports. Over the past few months the Stonewall Sports KC board has been working to bring SWS to the KC area in order to enrich our community and to provide an intramural league for all Kansas Citians. The league will make its debut this fall with the intramural sport favorite, kickball.
SSKC’s biggest concern is how do they grow and continue to create space for athletes and engage future SSKC leaders that are in historically marginalized communities without tokenizing people.
Join us at the August MasterMinds session on Tuesday, August 27th, 7:30 am to 9:00 am. MasterMinds will be held at Bishop-McCann, located at 1701 Walnut, Kansas City, MO.
