This Month at MasterMinds:
Do you exercise more when you are in a relationship?
Do individuals exercise more when they’re in a relationship? National-level data suggests individuals in intimate partner relationships engage in more physical activity than their single counterparts. This session of Masterminds examines the associations among sexual orientation, intimate partner relationships, and physical activity. Dr. Joey Lightner, Assistant Professor and Program Director of the Bachelor of Science in Public Health at UMKC will moderate this session. His research interest is focused in social interaction, sexual orientation and physical activity. This session will ask you to tell about your experience of how sexual orientation and relationship status may influence your exercise and physical activity behavior. Ultimately, this research will help inform policy and interventions to increase physical activity.
