Transgender Day of Visibility Reception
Thursday, March 30th
The Mid-America GLCC and Human Rights Campaign-KC are proud to co-present the third annual observance of the International Transgender Day of Visibility on Thursday, March 30th from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at ej4, LLC, located at 1818 Wyandotte St, #200, Kansas City, MO 64108.
The International Transgender Day of Visibility is a day dedicated to celebrating transgender people and raising awareness of discrimination faced by transgender people worldwide. It is a day for transgender people to stand up and be counted, and also for cis-gender people (people whose gender identity aligns with their sex at birth) to learn about and celebrate their transgender friends and family members.
A program will take place at 6:15 pm. Speakers include:
Avery Jackson, Nine-year-old transgender girl who was featured on the cover of National Geographic, January 2017
Debi Jackson, Avery's mother
State Representative Greg Razer, Missouri House District 25
Rachael Allen
Quinten Sepe
Carmen Xavier
Emcees: Madeline Johnson and Nyla Foster
