As part of Cerner’s Revenue Cycle Management organization, the Patient Account Specialist team is dedicated to the mission of supporting Cerner’s health solutions that cross many roles and venues in health care. As a Patient Account Specialist, you will help streamline complex revenue and reimbursement processes within the comprehensive health system.

You will have responsibility for various business office functions for physician practices and hospitals systems. These functions include reviewing, correcting and submitting claims to payers. This work will be accomplished by communicating with patients, government agencies and third party payers to gather, process and record information needed for appropriate reimbursement. As a Patient Account Specialist, you will also be responsible for initiating collection action for past due and denied claims and calculating write-off and debit/credit adjustments. This position works in a close team environment to meet daily, monthly and quarterly billing metrics in accordance with client expectations and needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
High school diploma, GED or equivalent work experience

Preferred Qualifications:
At least 1 year of health care billing work experience
Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or other Revenue Cycle certification

Expectations:
US work authorization required
Willing to work overtime or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations
Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Kansas City area
